Every year for FinnFest, Oiva Toikka creates a stunning commemorative bird, and this year is no exception. The common redpoll is a sight to behold with its deep pink body and bold purple beak. The body of this bird is exceptional in its use of air bubbles, which give the bird a stippled appearance. Its wings are comprised of transparent white glass accented by radiating lines of black. Small yet dignified, this bird sums up the tiny yet accomplished country of Finland.
The common redpoll is a limited edition bird, with only 1250 in production, so do not miss the opportunity to make one a part of your collection. Like all of Toikka’s birds, the Common Redpoll is mouth-blown at iittala’s Nuutajärvi glass factory.
