- How do I order online?
Go to the description page for the first item you wish to purchase. Find the entry field labeled "Quantity"--it's usually next to the item's picture. Enter the quantity desired and then click on the "Buy Now" button. The item you've selected will be displayed in your shopping cart.
Follow the onscreen instructions to either checkout or click on "Continue Shopping". If you continue shopping, you will be able to add more items to your shopping cart. You can return to checkout at any time by clicking the "Shopping Cart" icon that will appear in the upper right corner of your screen.

- Can you ship anywhere?
We ship to USA, Canada, and internationally. See the Shipping Info page for more details.
- How are shipping charges calculated?
Ground shipping in continental U.S. is a flat $5.95 for any size order.
Shipping costs elsewhere are based on the weight of your order. The description of each item includes an approximate weight. At checkout, the weight will be used to calculate the shipping and handling charge. Please see the Shipping Info page for more details.
- How quickly will my order arrive?
We try to ship all orders within one business day. Transit time can add one to seven days depending on your distance from Minnesota. In most cases, you can expect to receive your order in less than a week.

While we carry a large inventory, there are occassions when an item is out of stock and it must be back ordered from the manufacturer. If that does occur, we will notify you by email within one business day and allow you to cancel or change your order.
- Can my order be shipped by air (overnight, 2- or 3-day)?
Our online system can only calculate shipping cost for ground shipments. Please contact us by email (info@FinnishGifts.com) or phone (toll-free 866-346-6474 or direct 612-367-8220) for shipping quotes if you need air delivery.
- Will sales tax be added to my order?
Sales tax will be charged for orders shipped within Minnesota. We do not currently collect sales tax for other states.
Customers outside the U.S. will be responsible for any duties or taxes added to imports by their own country.
- How can the prices be so much lower than other retailers?
We buy in very large quantities from the manufacturer to get the lowest possible prices. (All our merchandise is top quality--the same merchandise sold elsewhere at much higher prices.)
Our sales model--we are a family-owned and operated business--is also streamlined to keep prices down. Our philosophy is that the WWW should provide a marketplace where people can afford to support artisans and enjoy owing the beautiful pieces of art they create.
- Is it safe to wash iittala glass in the dishwasher?
Yes, it is safe to wash iittala drinking glasses and tableware in the dishwasher. According to the manufacturer, you should follow the following precautions:
- use top rack
- avoid heat drying; a short wash cycle and low temperatures (max 55 degrees C) are recommended
- do not allow glass edges to touch during wash
- pitchers should be hand washed
- open the door of the dishwasher as soon as possible so the moisture evaporates
- The manufacturer also states that "delicate stemware, pitchers and jugs, mugs, large footed dessert bowls, and glass objects that contain glass of varying thickness (such as vases, art objects) are best hand-washed". For example, Essence stemware should be washed by hand.
- Can iittala glassware be used in a microwave or conventional oven?
No, it is not safe to use iittala glassware in a microwave or conventional oven.
- What if items are broken in transit?
This rarely occurs as all shipments are double-boxed for protection. However, all shipments are insured just in case. Should an item arrive damaged, contact us by email immediately for replacement instructions.
- What if I don't find the styles or sizes I need?
Please email your request to us at info@FinnishGifts.com. We will let you know if those items can be added to our online catalog or if we can special order the item for you.
- Are your prices in U.S. dollars?
Yes, all prices on our website, shopping cart and invoices are in U.S. Dollars. The conversion to your currency will be made automatically at the time your credit card or PayPal payment is processed by your credit card company. To estimate your cost in another currency, try an internet search using the term "currency converter" for a calculation conversion site.
