| iittala Verna glasses were designed by Kerttu Nurminen in 1998. Verna, Finnish for “Spring,” is a collection of beautifully pressed glass in transparent bright and bold colors that inspire a relaxed environment while entertaining.
Nurminen’s career in glass includes functional as well as unique art pieces, and is marked by an unwillingness to compromise in her designs. Kerttu Nurmine’s work is presented in numerous museums and collections around the world.
Each piece is embossed on its base "KERTTU NURMINEN IITTALA"

| About the designer: Kerttu Nurminen
Born in Lahti, Finland, in 1943, Nurminen has worked for over 20 years in the Nuutajärvi glass factory. She has just celebrated 30 years as an artist and is known for making unique glass designs in addition to functional objects. Being very familiar with glass-making techniques, she has also been involved in generating new ones. Nurminen’s big break came in 1988, when she created the Mondo glassware for Iittala. Her work is presented in numerous museums and collections around the world.
