Aarne glassware, designed by decorative artist and glass designer Göran Hongell, is a popular icon of 50s glassware. This modern Scandinavian glassware was awarded the gold medal at the 1954 Milan Triennial; is featured in the permanent collection of the Museum of Modern Art in New York; and remains a top choice in modern barware for its clean, classic, cosmopolitan look and feel.
Aarne’s popularity is due in large part to its simplicity. The distinguishing features of the popular lead-free crystal Aarne glasses are its thick, weighted base and thin sides that elegantly flare outward.
